1984 - 1986 Saleen Wheels
The first three
years, Saleen basically used only three different wheels.
Brand depends on which year Saleen you are looking at. There is nothing special
about any of these wheels as far as size or offset. These are standard
production wheels - same as any wheel that fits a 4 lug Mustang.
As long as they have the correct backspacing for a Mustang/Capri you'll be set,
as there is no way to verify "original" Saleen
wheels.
Center caps could be a challenge to find.
American Racing also produced a similar flat mesh wheel similar to the Enkei's
pictured below.
Hayashi 15"
Saleen initially used Hayashi Wheels in a 15x7 size.
These were used on all (three) 1984 and many 1985 Saleens,
along with a very few 1986's.
Note that the
raised pattern mesh extends into the lug area, and the rim/barrel is very flat.
Enkei 16"
In 1985, the 16x7 Enkei wheel became optional. It may have
also been used on some 1986's.
Note that the mesh pattern does NOT
extend in to the flat lug area on the Enkei wheel.
Riken 16"
The 16x7 Riken wheel was used in 1986. It may have also been
used on some late 1985's.
Note that the
raised mesh pattern extends in to the lug area on the Riken wheel.
